Salaried, hourly or draw? Security or diligence? Change is an element that’s been around since the beginning of time disliked by most. Salaried and hourly employees enjoy the security of knowing how much their paycheck will be week to week to meet current financial obligations with little to no risk. In today’s economy, many are in fear of loosing their job, living from paycheck to paycheck or living for today, not planning for tomorrow. We need to realize as employees that “My job could be the next to go.” Don’t be a candidate for “Who moved my Cheese” when your money, alias paper, cake, cream, stacks, dinero or cheese is gone.
Some employers offer positions utilizing the draw system with sales positions. The advantage of a career in sales is, unlimited earning potential. The more you sell the more you make. However, risk is an element which requires much thought. If you don’t sell you won’t make money. Diligence and perseverance is key. You must play to win or you will fail. If you like the fixed income lifestyle, this option is not for you.
Entrepreneurship requires diligence and discipline. If you’ve worked 40-50 hours per week for a employer, you have diligence to work for yourself. First, meditate on what’s important in your life, research and implement a professionally written business plan. Without a plan is like getting on the highway without directions to your designation. The advantage…….unlimited earning potential. You write your own paycheck, take vacation when you want to, and no boss.
Either way, Don’t wait for your cheese to be moved. Find a new piece. Remember, “Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.” Diligence is key.
